Well I would like to support with a popular decision like that but I can't. In the modern world Oil is too important. The money they could cut on oil should go to energy research, so we all can get better cleaner energy sources. Now the thing is, USA as a much wider range of investments... Most of the problems USA faces have to do with the cost of energy and we our current level of technology oil is energy :/
The oil industry in the US is a bloated whale. They make billions of profits on their own, before subsidies. I don't think they need taxpayer money to protect their profits.
