Violent Eastern Storm Kills 12
Genichiro:
--- Quote ---WASHINGTON (AP) - Violent storms swept across the eastern U.S., killing at least 12 people and knocking out power to millions of people on a day that temperatures across the region are expected to reach triple-digits.
The Mid-Atlantic region had already been experiencing 100-degree temperatures before Friday evening's violent storms. More than 3 million are without power - and without air conditioning - as crews work to clear downed tree limbs and restore electricity.

This is another instance where I'm a part of the story. For those not living in the area, late Friday evening, a devastating line of storms developed and rampaged through the area. The storms were brought with them quarter-sized hail and wind gusts up to 80mph, (hurricane force winds). In any given area, the storms passed through in 20-30 minutes. In that time, they brought forth heavy damage to the area, taking down trees and power lines all over the area. I can't walk more than five feet without seeing some debris from the trees around here. Several power lines were snapped like twigs from the sudden wind gusts. Many may not see power for a week, all from this line of storms that formed from no where. Fortunately, our power was restored after only being out for fifteen hours. Hopefully several more people will regain power today to combat the continued heat.
Cirno:
This one wasn't as scary as the one with the tornadoes last time we got really bad storms. It was so weird. One moment, we're just relaxing, and then boom! Here comes this storm that just takes out everything!
Genichiro:
The freaky part is just how fast it all happened. You should have seen the look on my face when we got another freak storm last night. I was worried we were about to get a repeat performance of Friday night, right after our house and my store got power back. :XD:
Cirno:
That storm last night made me nervous, too. I didn't want to end up in the dark and all alone again. I wouldn't have had anyone to cuddle with, since Gen was working last night.
Genichiro:
You could have just cuddled me extra when I did get home. :XD:
