Article here (http://www.autoblog.com/2012/07/19/watch-the-speeding-prank-that-got-two-fl-police-officers-fired/?icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl11%7Csec1_lnk1%26pLid%3D182288)

Well, this was just dumb. Seriously, the officers should have realized they were endangering others with their little "prank." If the were really trying to pull a serious prank, what they should have done was set up some road blocks, spaced far apart, and late at night, so as to avoid causing too many inconveniences. They could have had someone speed in there, tricking an officer who didn't know. The road blocks would keep innocent people out of danger. Safety first, right? Doing it in traffic, in a construction zone? They deserved to get fired. The officer in the back seat should be lucky he was only suspended. They can try to appeal that all day long, the fact of the matter is that the officers did wrong and got what they deserved. They shouldn't be so surprised that they have to follow the law, too.

I have to wonder how people like that were able to become police officers in the first place.

As do I; I should think that they would be given evaluations to make sure they would not do something like that.

I would think that, too, but even then, I don't think they're perfect. Then again, nothing is, right? Well, maybe they should test their integrity, too.

I wouldn't know how to even begin to test for that. Maybe they should make it clear that even police officers aren't allowed to break the law. Double emphasize it and everything, to highly discourage stuff like this from happening. It'll still happen regardless, but every little bit helps.
