Studio Ghibli Announces 2 Films for 2013
« on: December 13, 2012, 19:29 »
http://otaku.collectiondx.com/news-item/two-new-studio-ghibli-films-announced

Two new films, and one directed by Miyazaki? If this isn't a Christmas gift to the Otaku of the world, I don't know what is.

The first film is based on the manga by Miyazaki about Jiro Horikoshi, the designer of Japan's famous Zero fighter plane, used during WWII.

The second film, directed by Isao Takahata, is based on the Tale of the Bamboo Cutter (for the Touhou fans reading this, this is the same story that inspired Kaguya Houraisan's backstory).

Both are going to be released the same day, but shown separately. They haven't said the date yet, but I'm excited! :yuush:

I'm excited for both, honestly. The first one sounds interesting for its historical context, and I'm intrigued about the second, since it's related to the back story for Imperishable Night. Can't wait for them to come out; I hope they live up to the hype.

Have you watched Princess Mononoke, Tales from Earthsea and Spirited Away? If you haven't, try watching them and if you liked Laputa, then you might find these entertaining as well.
